What's new on DRXP: October 1–4

A brand-new DrXp Alley front page in shining gold, pop-ups and a smooth picture viewer, search that answers as you type, clearer commissions for both sides, and an easier service editor for artists.

Everything we changed on drxp.shop between Thursday, October 1 and Sunday, October 4. Most of it is DrXp Alley, where people hire artists for commissions.

The big five

  1. A brand-new DrXp Alley front page in shining gold, with search, a rotating art showcase, and every open commission in one row.
  2. Look closer without leaving. Artists, commissions and open calls pop open in place, and pictures open in a smooth full-screen viewer.
  3. Search that answers as you type. Artists, commissions and categories appear while you're still typing.
  4. Commissions are clearer for both sides. Coloured stages, the next step on every row, a delivery area with Download all, and photos you can name or take back.
  5. Setting up a service is easier for artists. Every step of the service editor was reworked, from uploading examples to publishing.

Alley front page

The page people land on at drxp.shop/alley was rebuilt from top to bottom.

  • Shining gold look. Black and polished gold, with soft gold lights drifting slowly in the background. Everyone
  • A title that types. The word above ALLEY types itself out: Merch, Emotes, Overlays and more. Everyone
  • Art showcase that rotates. Five tiles of artists' work up top. One tile changes every few seconds, and every artist with art gets a turn. Everyone
  • How it works, up front. Four numbered steps sit near the top on computers so newcomers get it at a glance. Everyone
  • Open commissions row. Services you can hire right now, from every artist, in one row. Grab and slide it, or swipe on a phone. Clients
  • Browse without the page jumping. Picking a category reshuffles the artist cards smoothly in place. Clients
  • Filters in a drop-down. Availability, budget, delivery time, usage rights and merch payment, updating as you choose. Clients
  • Trust strip. Your money is held until you approve, artists keep 95%, commercial and merch rights available. Everyone

Pop-ups and pictures

  • Quick views. Tap an artist, a commission or an open call and it pops open right on the page, with Portfolio, Commissions, Merch and About tabs for artists. Clients
  • Shareable pop-ups. Each pop-up has its own link, so you can send someone straight to an artist or a commission. Everyone
  • A smooth picture viewer everywhere. Big, full-screen pictures that slide to the next one with no flashing, thumbnails, swipe on phones and double-click to zoom. Everyone
  • Close just the picture. ✕, Esc or a swipe down closes the picture and leaves the commission pop-up open behind it. Everyone
  • Suggestions as you type. Matching artists (with their picture and whether they're open), commissions with prices, and categories. Clients
  • Results you can see. Pressing Enter filters the artists and glides the page down to them. Clients
  • Smarter matches. Search looks at what artists offer too, so "emotes" finds an artist with an emote pack. Clients

Gold on every Alley page

  • One look across the Alley. Artist profiles, service pages, the hiring form, open calls and showcases all use the gold style. The rest of the shop keeps its usual colours. Everyone

Hiring an artist

  • Pick with pictures. Services show their example art, a "Your pick" panel sums up your choice, and a Details pop-up shows everything about a service. Clients
  • Reference images you can manage. Name each one, remove one before sending, and see them all in a tidy tray. Clients
  • Change your mind on optional questions. Tap a picked answer again, or press ✕ Clear, to un-pick it. The price updates right away. Clients
  • Tidier forms. Side-by-side boxes line up even when a label wraps, and the file button matches the rest of the site. Everyone

Artist profiles and open calls

  • Cleaner artist profiles. One header row with the key facts, a bar that follows as you scroll, services first, and a Hire button in reach on phones. Everyone
  • Open calls board reworked. Two clear ways in, a short how-it-works strip, quick filters, and cards coloured by how soon they close. Everyone

Commissions

  • Lists that tell you what's next. Coloured rows show each commission's stage and the next step, for artists and clients. Everyone
  • The client's commission page. Coloured stages, the finished files up front with Download all, and clear Approve or Ask for a revision choices. Clients
  • The artist's job page. Coloured stages, a quicker way to send a quote, and a delivery tray for the finished files. Artists
  • Photos in messages. Add several at once, name each one, remove one before sending, and take back a photo sent by mistake. Everyone

Setting up a service

  • Basics. Name ideas to start from, character counters, a live preview of your service card, and a clear choice of how clients order. Artists
  • Price. Tick the file types the service delivers so clients know what they get. Artists
  • Examples. Upload pictures in batches, name each one, and rename or drag to reorder saved ones. Artists
  • Add-ons. One price box with a $ / % switch, and a line showing what the client will pay. Artists
  • Availability. Coloured status cards, a preview of what clients see, and three simple switches. Artists
  • Review. A "ready" bar, a step-by-step summary, and colour-coded publish choices. Artists

Emails and partner pages

  • "They're open" emails. Followers, waitlist members and people watching a service get a designed email when an artist opens for commissions. Clients
  • Partner welcome email. Now leads with what matters most: artists keep 95% of every commission. Artists
  • MomoChanz and DiscordedJoker. MomoChanz's page shows fifteen of her forms; DiscordedJoker's cat-demon is now his face on his page. Everyone
  • Headings no longer overlap. The small handwritten labels above big headings now sit clear of them on every page. Everyone

If something looks off after an update, a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5, or pull down to refresh on a phone) loads the newest version.
